Listdom 6.1.0 makes it easier to begin a new directory, present clearer listing content, and build polished owner and visitor experiences. This release introduces a guided Setup Wizard, listing-specific image alt text, richer List + Grid cards, and dedicated Elementor widgets for dashboards and comparison tables.
Start with a guided Setup Wizard
New directory projects can now begin with an interactive Setup Wizard. Choose a Business Directory, City Portal, or Service Marketplace as a starting point, answer the relevant setup questions, and review the proposed directory structure before applying it.
The wizard creates a more confident path from a blank installation to a usable foundation. It is designed to help you prepare the applicable pages, search and listing structure, categories, locations, fields, and suggested configuration without taking away the ability to review the plan first.
Use better image text for every listing
Listing authors and administrators can now enter optional alt text for a listing’s featured image and for each gallery image. This is especially useful when the same Media Library image appears in different listings but needs context-specific accessibility or SEO wording.
When a listing-specific field is empty, Listdom continues to use the image’s Media Library alt text. To use the listing-specific wording on the frontend, enable Use Custom Alt Text in the applicable Listing Image or Listing Gallery element.
Add more context to List + Grid Style 2
List + Grid Style 2 can now show the configured description or excerpt in both the List and Grid views. The selected content type and content length apply consistently as visitors switch between the two layouts.
This gives directory builders a practical way to add enough context to visual cards without forcing visitors to open every listing. It is particularly useful for listings where a short service summary, property detail, or business introduction helps visitors compare options faster.
Build dashboard and comparison pages with Elementor
The Listdom Elementor Addon now includes dedicated Frontend Dashboard and Comparison Table widgets. Use them in Elementor to place and style a Listdom dashboard or a configurable comparison table as part of a tailored directory page.
The widgets continue to use the relevant active Listdom configuration, so keep your dashboard pages, Compare settings, and selected table rows configured before refining the Elementor layout.
Clearer claim ownership and verification workflows
The Claim Addon now more clearly separates an approved listing-owner assignment from an optional verified badge period. A successful claim can establish durable ownership, while a paid verified badge can follow the configured duration and renewal rules.
This makes it easier to create an ownership workflow that matches the directory model: approve a legitimate owner, offer a verified presence where appropriate, and keep the ownership relationship clear when a badge period ends or a renewal is cancelled.
Small reliability improvements
Listdom 6.1.0 also improves scheduled-job recovery and Google Places address copying in affected workflows, along with smaller interface refinements.
Before you update
As with every Listdom update, test first on a staging site when your directory uses custom layouts, paid claim workflows, or Elementor-driven pages. After updating, review your setup wizard choices on new projects, confirm the listing-image elements use the intended alt-text setting, and test any dashboard or comparison pages you have built with Elementor.
